Beautiful colour combination;
using Korean silk fabric- sukgosa.
I love them!

The Bojagi Coaster right below;
is hand sewn by my teacher, Youngmin Lee.

I really admire her hand sewn stitches;
a beautiful piece of work!

Long Distance Class... Bojagi Pincushion

My love for bojagi sewing...
brought me to find a Bojagi teacher.
It's my pleasure
to introduce you all,
my teacher, Ms.Youngmin Lee,
a talented Korean lady living in California, USA.
Her beautiful Bojagi works
can be found in her website!

So, and yes this is my first project
of my long distance class...
a Bojagi pincushion.
She introduced me to Korean silk,
which is also known as sukgosa.
I found that this fabric is much easier to sew
as compared to the ramie fabric.

This beautiful Bojagi pincushion
is sewn by Youngmin Lee.
An example which she sent to me!
By the way, there are a total
of four projects for this long distance programme,
so far I have completed two...
look out for the second project in my next post!

More... Bojagi Sewing!

Yes... More bojagi sewing for me!
Practice & more practice,
I am loving it...

I am experimenting different colour combinations
with the ramie fabrics!

I applied the 'Ssamsol' technique and
and sew with 'Gamchimjil' stitch...
These are the basic seam allowances
and korean stitches which I had learnt
in my bojagi sewing class in Seoul, Korea.

Happy Sewing! my dear friends...
and have a wonderful week!

Time for Bojagi Sewing...

It is time for Bojagi Sewing again...
During my trip to Seoul, Korea last year;
if you remember,
I attended a bojagi class during my trip there.

I bought loads of ramie fabrics
while I was in Seoul...
I can't resist buying fabrics;
 for me to practice and experiment!

I love the texture and colours of the ramie fabric...
 I have chosen a white thread which
later on found out that it is a wrong choice
as the stitches do not stand out!
In Bojagi sewing, the visibility of the thread stitches
plays an important part in the design..

I must admit that more practice is still needed;
there is still room for improvement.

A Doily... Button Love Girl!

Yes... My Button Love Girl
is a design that I have developed
sometime ago...
I hope to use my lovely girl character
in my future sewing projects;
to give my works a personalized style!

I hand stitched my Button Love Girl:
and added crocheted lace edges
with rainbow colours...

This is one of my favourite pieces!
Hope you like it too...
