Simple Christmas Patchwork

It is Christmas time ...
a simple and easy patchwork,
a Christmas wall hanging decoration for the home!

The tree is made from various fabrics pieced together.
And not forgetting my flower crochet + button,
are carefully sewn at the top of the christmas tree!

As usual all my patchwork pieces are handsewn.
Sewing by hand has been a satisfying endeavor for me
... as I find it to be relaxing!

Handmade Souvenir

A small handmade souvenir which I have bought from the Fremantle Markets, during my recent trip to Perth, Western Australia.

It is a lovely handmade cupcake purse! Very sweet indeed...
and it is very neatly sewn with beautiful matching fabrics.
There are also some small tiny beads sewn on it too!

I must say that it is done with lots of love and care
by the person who have made this... just love it so much!

Crafty Inspiration

Two weeks ago, I visited Fremantle Markets
which is located at corner of Henderson Street and South Terrace,
Fremantle in Perth, Western Australia.
This market is housed in an old Victorian building.

Fremantle Markets was established in 1897, a must see destination with an enticing collection of all that makes Fremantle so fantastic!
It has many stalls selling a wide variety of products,
besides fresh produce and food.

These include handicraft, clothing, antique,
decorative items, souvenirs etc...

This particular stall is my one of my favourite...
all handmade stuff using lovely fabrics!

More Patchwork

Another patchwork piece, simple and nice...
made from my fabric scraps.
I have completed this piece in a short period of time.

This piece is for my daughter's keyboard...
In order to personalized it, I have her name stitched on the patchwork and added a heart shaped button too!

Random Patchwork

This is a simple, standard patchwork piece - a table runner...
I have used random fabric pieces to make this patchwork.
Using all the fabrics that I could find in my collection.

Every single square is different;
not one fabric is repeated on this patchwork piece.
There are a total of 68 squares, and the fabrics
are wide ranging colours and prints!! No specific theme applied...

I LOVE FABRICS... so it is my gift to myself!!

I will be away for a short vacation this weekend
... and on the look out for inspiration and resources for
my future projects!

Till then, do have a great weekend too :)

Strawberry Shortcake Blocks

If you do remember my 'work in progress' project
- Strawberry Patchwork...
I would like to proudly say that finally all my blocks are completed!

Every single block is pieced together by hand.
There are a total of 77 blocks, consisting of 6 different designs.
Each block; measuring 5 inches by 5 inches.

So, my next task is to join the blocks together into a quilt cover...
hopefully it can be completed before Christmas!

Fun with Fabric Scraps

Fabric scraps from my previous projects...
though some are very small in size,
they are all just too beautiful to be thrown away.
So, I decided to have some fun with the scraps!

Yes, a patchwork piece..
and this is specially handmade for Pipit Zakka Store.
It is to express my appreciation and thanks...

And to those who have purchased my handmade creations,
many thanks for your support!

I will be back again at Pipit Zakka Store with new handmade items,
hopefully at the second quarter of next year...
untill then, do continue to drop by at my blog.

Recycled Craft - Detergent Bottle

A liquid detergent bottle,
creatively transformed into a beautiful flower pot.

I have specially chosen this detergent bottle
because of its shape, form and colour.
I have carefully cut one third of the bottom part of the bottle.
Turning the bottle upside down;
the handle of the bottle resembles an elephant trunk...

Therefore, I have decided to make a feminine looking elephant!
I have neatly pierce small holes for my crochet hook to go through.
Using a bright yellow yarn, I have added two beautiful crocheted ears, with a green flower earrings on each sides, a flower dangling on the front ...and a tail at the rear.

I have creatively turned an ordinary object into
an interesting craft piece...
My crafter friends, hope you like it and give it a try!

Happy 'green' crafting!!!

These are one of my favourite handmade creations...
at the Pipit Zakka Store.

They are a series of tea bag bookmarks
- a fusion of beautiful fabrics + crochet lace again!
The size of the bookmark is approximately the size of a tea bag.

Interestingly, the tea bag series comes in a variety of 'flavours' ;
tea, coffee, strawberry & milk, fruity & polka dots...
...what would you like to have?

My 'sweet and delicious' tea bag bookmarks are
